Holiday Card Class | Day 1

I just started my first online card class, and I’m already learning a ton. Below is a project I created inspired by Jennifer McGuire.

Seasons Greetings Card

For the sentiment area, she used masking paper, but I needed to get creative since I don’t have special masking paper. My husband and I just moved, so fortunately I had access to painters tape. It didn’t provide as crisp of an edge as masking paper probably would have, but it still worked.

I also decided to stitch above and below the masked area rather than score that section as Jennifer had done. Because my “Seasons Greetings” sentiment was already taking up so much room, I needed to come up with a different transition since there wasn’t much room left in the masked area.

All in all, I’m happy with my card. The sentiment came out a little fuzzy, so if I would recreate it I probably would use a different sentiment stamp that I know will look sharp.

Supplies:
Tim Holtz Distress Inks
Staz-On Grey Ink

Hello world!

This is my first-ever blog post, and I wasn’t sure where to start. I decided I would just jump right in, and share one of my favorite card creations:

Happy Birthday James Card

I had purchased the Generations Tech paper pack from Joann’s awhile ago, and was so excited to be able to use the unique “gamer” theme for a birthday card. It gave me an excuse to not only use the papers, but I also whipped out my mini letter stamps. It also set the tone of a masculine card, which is sometimes hard to design.
