I had a few sheets of red patterned paper laying around, so I decided to challenge myself to a monotone card. I’m really pleased with it, especially since it would make a great card for men, who can sometimes be hard to design for.

Until our basement is finished this summer, my craft room has been set up in the spare room. I wanted to show pictures just for fun, but also wanted to share one of the best Christmas gifts I’ve ever gotten. My mom searched high and low for a card holder of some sort. She was able to track one down after a lot of searching and surprised me with it for Christmas.
Well, I was finally able to set it up in the craft area and it’s AMAZING! I have it completely filled up with 6×6 paper packs and finished cards. It has slots on all four sides, and rotates. It’s so nice to see everything out in the open, and makes picking papers so much easier. Thanks Mom!

My temporary craft room:
I recently used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a grass-like shape inspired by the goat in the Green Acres stamp set by Paper Smooches. Once my grass was cut, I had the negative space of the grass left over, and thought it created an interesting shape. Although I have enough paper to last a lifetime, I still don’t like being wasteful and brainstormed a way to utilize both the positive and negative space from this shape to create two different cards:
As you can see, I was able to flip around the negative scrap paper from my original grass cut and I created a whole other card. I love being able to incorporate scraps into new and unique creations! 🙂
