Paper Smooches October Challenge

I decided to give the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge a try for this week. We were given an image as inspiration (shown below) to create a card using Paper Smooches products as the main focus of the project.

I thought it would be fun to cut apart a new happy birthday die from Lawn Fawn and stagger the words using the adorable Chubby Chums stamps and dies from Paper Smooches to create the curved look across the card. I cut out a second set of paws/hooves to make it look like the animals were holding the banners; a trick I did a couple weeks ago.

This is the first challenge I’ve been part of. I hope I did it right, and that it’s well-received!

Happy Birthday Card with Paper Smooches Critters

I’m really excited how this Happy Birthday card turned out! I used a few Paper Smooches critters, a happy birthday paper pad, and a pierced oval die from Simon Says Stamp to put everything together.  All the images were colored with Copic markers, and I colored and cut out extra cat paws to make it look like the cat was holding the banner.

I was also able to use the Happy Birthday stamp from an Inkadinkado rubber stamp set that I’ve recently removed from the block to use with my MISTI. If I hadn’t converted it from a block stamp, I don’t think I would have even thought to use it. It ended up being the perfect look for the card!

Happy Birthday – SC #2

I’m particularly proud of this card design because I stepped away from my normal tendencies and tried something a little different. I stamped the adorable Penny Black Greetings stamp and Stampabilities Happy Birthday 10 stamp directly on yellow patterned paper from The Paper Studio, and colored it in with Ranger Distress Markers. Stamping directly on patterned paper is not something I’ve done before. I’m very happy with the results of this card, and plan to try this technique again in the future.

Happy Birthday – SC #1

I have A LOT of stamps. A lot. Since there are possibly hundreds that I’ve never touched, I decided to challenge myself to use every single stamp I own at least once. This could possibly take years and years, but I’m up for it! Once I use a stamp, I put a piece of washi tape on it to mark that it’s been used as part of the challenge. I hope this will help me to stretch my stamps and think outside the box as I will no longer look to grab the same designs over and over.

The first stamp I chose was a rubber Happy Birthday stamp from Inkadinkado. I chose this one because my rubber stamps tend to get neglected and I’m very short on happy birthday cards.
