I don’t have a lot of experience with watercolor, but am trying to use it more. I heat embossed this gorgeous butterfly stamp with clear embossing powder over black Versafine ink then used distress inks to color it in. I’m usually don’t have a very “messy” style, but I embraced the distress inks and allowed them to flow outside of the embossed image. I also took my scissors and frayed the edges of the paper to give it more of a weathered look.
I’m really happy with how it turned out. A very simple and flat card design that still has quite a bit of interest.
